SAFETY RECALLS
In line with our commitment to quality and customer care, there may be times during the life of your motorcycle where components have to be replaced under a manufacturers Safety Recall. For your safety, and in accordance with local vehicle standards agencies, we will introduce notices as deemed necessary.
WHAT IS A SAFETY RECALL?
A safety recall is a repair or replacement of a component on your motorcycle that is considered safety related. In the case of a safety recall, owners will be contacted by way of postal letter, if your address is registered to the motorcycle in our records. You will be asked to take your motorcycle to your local or preferred dealer, where the work will be carried out free of charge. This search function relates to recall campaigns published from 1st January 2001 to date.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU RECEIVE A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE?
We require your co-operation to ensure your motorcycle is modified without delay, to ensure your maximum safety. Please contact your local or preferred AJS Dealer and book your motorcycle in for the recall work to be actioned immediately. To find your AJS Dealer, please use our Find Dealer search.
WHAT IS A VIN?
Every motorcycle has a unique Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), which is always 17 alphanumeric digits. This is sometimes known as the chassis number. You can find the VIN in your logbook and stamped on the frame of your motorcycle, usually on the headstock.

There is a possibility that the headstock area of the chassis has defective welding. This could cause loss of control.
The VIN range affected is LRRTEJP40P6000097 to LRRTEJP40P6000097

Stop - Drive
Recall Reference RM/2023/005
(Supersedes RM/2021/033)
Models affected: All AJS Modena 125cc Euro 4 & Euro 5 (2017 models onwards, identified by the presence of a rear disk brake).
The Exhaust Bracket can come loose and rotate down into the road causing sudden loss of control.
Recall Reference NCA/2018/014
Models affected: Cadwell, Tempest Scrambler, Tempest Roadster. (Late 2016 onwards)
Cadwell 125, Tempest Roadster 125 and Tempest Scrambler only:
1) The headlight dipped beam pattern may be high and to the right. This represents a risk of oncoming drivers being dazzled.
Cadwell 125 only:
1) The rear reflector needs re positioning. This condition poses a risk that the existing reflector may not be visible in some situations.
